Is it really a bug?

Before reporting a bug, it's important to check whether it's actually a technical issue. A bug is a flaw in the application where TradeLogger doesn't work as intended. For example, when trades aren't being saved, statistics are calculated incorrectly, features don't respond, or when your trading journal data is lost.

Sometimes issues may seem like bugs, but are actually questions about how certain features work. If you don't know how to filter statistics by strategy or timeframe, or if you need help setting up your trading journal, please first consult our help page or ask your question in our Discord community. These resources can often help you quickly without there being a technical problem.

Reproduction

To effectively resolve a technical bug, we need detailed information about what exactly is happening. When reporting a bug in TradeLogger, try to gather the following information:

Bug location: On which page or in which part of your trading journal does the problem occur? For example, when logging a trade, adding a strategy, or filtering your trading data.

Steps to reproduce the bug: Describe exactly which steps you followed before the bug occurred. This helps us replicate the problem and find the cause.

Expected behavior versus actual behavior: What did you expect to happen? And what actually happens? This information helps us understand how the bug affects your use of the trading journal.

Additional details: Screenshots or screen recordings are very valuable. Information about your screen (device, size), or whether the problem occurs consistently or only under certain circumstances also helps us resolve the bug.

Report a bug

The bug reporting form is available within the TradeLogger application itself. This makes it easy to report bugs while you're using the application for your trading journal. To access the bug reporting form, you must be logged into TradeLogger. Jou can find the bug reporting form in the 'help'. Fill out the form as completely as possible.
